My husband and I are a terrific-teaching-team. I was inspired by him to become a teacher, and I have taught 4th and 5th grades. My husband teaches 4th grade gifted inclusion. We love to create and imagine original ideas that include technology, creativity and of course, fun.
I believe in a classroom environment of love, kindness, respect, inclusion and positivity. My demeanor with the kids is very reflective of this. I utilize a Classroom Economy for my management system, teaching kids the importance of money management, as well as individualizing behaviors and making it fun. I base it off of Rafe Esquith's model from his book, "Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire." I also use his 6 levels of thinking, teaching kids to have a personal code of behavior as the ultimate goal. Establishing this as a foundation allows for ease of teaching everything else.
None at this time - but I guarantee you there will be some in my illustrious future! Reach for the stars! :)
