TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught 3rd grade for 6 years (three years of 5th grade summer school). I have taught students in all economic situations, SPED, 504, ELD, Gifted, etc.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I focus on relationships over academics the first few weeks. I firmly believe between the adult and student, respect begets respect! I have found that when I can build a trusting/encouraging relationship with students they accept more challenges and are willing to fail and try again. I teach with routines/steps, repeat directions/concepts/vocab many times, and encourage students to be honest about their own areas of growth while encouraging others in their areas of strength.
