I have been using Soar to Success books with my students for years. Why? Children absolutely love these wonderful, engaging books! Each year I do my best to try and update them so that they stay current with best practices of the times. James and the Giant Peach Test, Chapters 1-10
This is a comprehension test designed in the style of state assessments, which usually require much more thinking than simply "what happened in the story" questions.
