Mother's Day Acrostic Poem - Template and Coloring Sheet
Great for grades 1st through 8th, students will select a template with a topic word on it (mother) The letters of the topic word will be used as the first letter for each line of the poem. Students will think of words or phrases that are related to the topic word. Distribute some poems and have students identify and highlight poetic devices like similes, metaphors, alliteration, onomatopoeia, and imagery. Discuss what these are and the overall impact on the reader's experience.
