Resistance to Reconstruction: Sharecropping, KKK, Jim Crow Laws
I found that students lacked a true understanding of the institutionalized racism and social/political/economic challenges African Americans faced in the 100 years between the end of slavery and the first breakthroughs of the Civil Rights Movement. To provide more context, I created this assignment explaining sharecropping, the KKK, Jim Crow Laws, Poll Taxes, Literacy Tests, and Grandfather Clauses. It is very informative and great for class discussion afterwards and linking to modern times.

Article II Executive Branch Constitution Scavenger Hunt - Presidents Job
Students "fill in the blanks" using the Constitution to determine what exactly is the job of the President. The questions do require students to make inferences as well as fill in the blank. Using Decimals in the Real World: Presidential Inauguration Activities
A good friend of mine shared this thought with me a few years ago. How can we get our students to use and understand decimals? Help them to apply what they are learning to real - world situations. Since the Presidential Election is quickly approaching, I thought I would put this practice into action.
