Welcome to Joy in Teaching! I’m glad you’re here. I am a special educator who has taught in public and private schools, and most days I love it:). I’ve realized that when things get tough in the classroom (and in life), I need to intentionally look for joy. I’ve decided to focus on teaching and living joyfully while looking for beauty in each moment. I would love for you to join me in intentionally looking for joy during your day.
I love teaching in a multi-sensory way and thinking outside of the box to help students learn new content. This helps my students (and me) to find joy in teaching and learning! I usually use some kind of theme throughout the year and connect all content areas to that theme.
Yet to be added
I taught first and second grade in general education classrooms. I also taught special education at the elementary level, so I work with pre-K through 5th graders. I now oversee support teams.
