I taught 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades for 30 years. I never got tired of watching students light up with enthusiasm or find success as a result of determination and hard work.
I would always tell my students, "Silly is never good, but relaxed is great." In every lesson, our brains have to be able to say two things: "This sounds interesting" and "I think I could understand this if I try." My goal every year would be to create a relaxed classroom environment where thinking and understanding are priorities.
I was honored to be described as a "cornerstone teacher" by my school administrator.

Married with three sons. In September 2020, one son is working, one is in high school, and the third is in middle school. It's great to see the road each one is taking to develop into who they were always designed to be.
