I have been fortunate to have experience in a range of grade levels from 2nd to 5th grade over the course of 9 years. The majority of my years in the classroom I have loved spending as a 5th-grade teacher! Some years my classroom has been general education, while in others it has been a co-teach classroom, including special education students, as well as, ENL students. I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a concentration in Spanish. My master's degree was completed for TESOL. (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) I have also enjoyed working with students one-on-one for tutoring sessions, ranging from elementary to middle school. I currently am an ENL teacher for elementary students .
My teaching style includes a structured setting with clear expectations. I believe it is important for all students to be able to interact with the teacher and one another. Students need to be exposed to lessons in a variety of ways, such as visually, technologically, and hands-on learning.
Yet to be added
My experience in education began in college where I received a Bachelor’s in elementary ed. with a minor in Spanish. I also went on to get my Masters in TESOL (Teaching English as a Second Language). While in college, I worked at a pre-school during the summers as an aide assisting children with special needs.
“Live life with a passion.” This has been a favorite quote of mine since I saw it on a small pouch I received as a little girl. I can still see the letters etched out with a tiny red heart below it. From that moment to today, it has inspired me to apply feeling and enthusiasm into anything I undertake, from my personal life to my career. I am married with a beautiful baby boy. I enjoy doing things at home, such as, reading, cooking, yoga, and spending time with family. Another great interest of mine is music, where I play the guitar and dabble with the ukulele and piano. My variety of interests had led me to study education, since being a teacher incorporates a diverse set of topics and skills.
