Minecraft Surface Area and Nets
Minecraft is all many of the kids think about....So, why not bring it into math class. Minecraft paper craft are nets that build the various Minecraft characters (they sell them in the scholastic book orders). In this SMART presentation, the students build a paper craft creeper to learn about rectangular prisms and nets. Then, the idea of surface area is introduced. My students LOVE this lesson!

Music Room Interactive Visuals
This is an interactive file with the visuals I use most often in my classroom.
Body percussion staff- you can move the notes on the staff to make ostinatos to repeat.
Solfege Ladder- you can move the solfege notes that you are not yet using- put them in the box and clear the visual to the only solfege notes you and your students need.
Xylophone visual- you can demonstrate xylophone patterns for students in a large fashion, as well you can remove the bars you are not using.

Geometry Proof Puzzle
Students use a word bank and their knowledge of triangle proofs to complete 3 "puzzles". CpCtC is used as well so I recommend using this after you teach that topic unless you wanted to modify the word bank and proofs. I had my students glue/tape their answers to construction paper to hang up around the classroom. I've used this multiple years and I really like how it turned out.

Revise vs. Edit Writing SMARTboard Compare & Contrast
This SMARTnotebook software file has 2 slides. The first shows revising and editing in a t-chart with covered descriptors under each. The teacher can remove them one at a time as they are discussed, or all at once if you prefer. On the second slide, call students up to sort the descriptors into a revolving vortex for either editing or revising. I used this as a 15 minute mini-lesson with my 5th grade GATE students on what they should be doing during each step.

Newspaper Math Scavenger Hunt
Students will use old magazines and newspapers to find math articles and clippings that relate to every day life. They have a checklist of items they need to find and directions of how to arrange them to display to the class. The smartboard has directions and the worksheet on it to go over whole-class. Code Breaker Logical Thinking Smartboard Game
In this game one person (the code maker) comes up with a four color code and the others (code finders) have to guess the code. The code maker provides hints to the code finders via colored feedback. Red feedback means the finders have the right color in the right place. White feedback means the finders have the right color in the wrong place. No feedback means the finders have the wrong color completely.
The finders are given anywhere from five to seven rounds to solve the code.
