As a first generation American I have a personal connection with my content area. I grew up in the midwest, but also had the blessing and good fortune of having rolemodels with a rich cultural and liguistic background to provide a different perspective on academics and daily life. While I had planned a life teaching English and History, I fell in love with teaching language learners over 7 years ago. I believe students when given the time, respect, and dignity of their past experiences, no matter what their education background is, will succeed. There is space for everyone in the classroom.
